Baldinos Lock and Key, Inc. was founded by Albert M. Baldino in 1961. What started as a hobby of interest has expanded to employ over 85 highly trained employees, technicians and experts to service 12 locksmith shops in Virginia, including VA, a locksmith wholesale supply distributorship servicing VA and an Electronic Access Controls Division servicing VA. Baldinos VA Locksmiths are trained in all aspects of locksmithing, electronic access controls, alarms, and safe servicing in VA. Baldinos VA Locksmiths has 12 locksmith shop storefront locations in Northern Virginia from which we dispatch technicians to service customers in VA.
In 1961, Mr. Baldino completed a correspondence course to sharpen his locksmith skills, with the objective of establishing his lifelong dream of owning and operating a locksmith business in VA of his own. While continuing to work as an airline mechanic for United Airlines during the 4:00 p.m. to midnight shift, Baldino's Lock and Key Service, Inc began to blossom during the day. For two years from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., it truly was a family business, as Mr. Baldino, his wife, Doris, and sons Mark and Gary worked in a little shed under the backyard treehouse to establish the new locksmith shop near VA.
As the business grew, Mr. Baldino left his position as airline mechanic to devote his full attention to the now burgeoning Baldino's Lock and Key, Inc.
Although the first commercial space for Baldino's was no wider than two double doors and 16 feet deep, locksmith service requests in VA continued to grow rapidly.
A larger location was established near Virginia, with another shop to follow in the newly opened Tyson's Corner Shopping Center. Baldino's was able to claim the distinction of being the first locksmith shop in the nation to locate in a shopping mall setting!
After graduating from college, both sons Mark Baldino and Gary Baldino returned to the locksmith business as partners and full time employees servicing the VA area.
Albert Baldino passed away in March, 1991, leaving his legacy of a successful locksmith company in VA to his sons, Mark and Gary.
Today, Baldino's Lock and Key has grown to include 18 locations reaching from Virginia to Maryland. Colonial Lock is our VA locksmith wholesale supply distributorship near Virginia, and Baldinos VA Locksmiths is our electronic access controls division near VA. These divisions proudly carry on the Baldino name. Mr. Baldino's dedication to quality service and concern for all customers continues to be demonstrated daily by all company employees in the VA area.
